Being a photographer here in sunny South Florida certainly has its perks. Besides the warm weather, Palm Beach County boasts some of the most beautiful locations for photo sessions. I love the diversity and the way I can carefully choose my settings for different sessions. In this blog post, I want to list some of my favorite locations to shoot at and why.

• Beaches

I think we can all agree that this is one of the major reasons one would move to Florida. The way the morning sun bounces off the water to create a dreamlike haze of gold is one of my favorite lights to capture. I prefer to shoot here at sunrise to take full advantage of this magical time of day. I prefer beach locations, that also offer an alternative scenery, like a park setting to move into once the light gets too harsh for my liking. That way, I can create two very different looks for my clients, without having to change the actual location. I love smaller, less crowded beaches to ensure some privacy during my sessions. I feel that it is so much easier to let go and be your authentic self if there aren’t people watching you. This is one of my favorite beaches for my photo sessions in Palm Beach county.

• Lush parks

It is no secret that South Florida has some stunning parks to explore and offers a beautiful setting for us photographers. I especially love the parks in Palm Beach County with their lush greenery and secret garden vibes. The way I can filter the light through the tropical leaves and trees allows for some beautiful photography. As a hopeless romantic, I adore these locations for their timeless feel. Check out this park where I shoot quite often.

• Lakes

Incorporating water into my sessions is one of my favorite things to do. I love the symbolism of a new beginning and cleansing and how it adds texture to my client’s portraits. And let’s be honest, it is refreshing to dip your toes into the water during the hot Florida summers. Palm Beach County with its many bodies of water is the perfect location for these photo sessions. I am always on the hunt for new spots around the Boynton Beach area.

• Open Fields

Finding wide, open fields here in South Florida is a bit of a challenge. Everything is so closely populated with new housing developments popping up weekly. Nevertheless, it is one of my favorite settings to shoot in. Especially for family sessions, I love to have lots of space for everyone to run around and play. The way that I can capture unobstructed sun flares makes a place like that even more magical.

Through many hikes with my family, I have discovered a few of those ‘Unicorn’ locations and love to use them regularly for my photo sessions.

• My Studio

Having my own studio has been absolutely amazing as it allows me to plan sessions without having to be dependent on the weather. My clients appreciate the air-conditioned space and beautiful boho feel. Especially for newborn photography, it provides a certain kind of comfort to my mamas and their little ones. I love the privacy and the neutral color palette it provides for the photos I take and it allows me to get creative with decor and specialty photo sessions here in Boynton Beach.
